Knitting pattern

The Luode sweater is a loose and relaxed summer knit. The sample sweater is knitted from thick cotton yarn. If you knit Luode from PMK alpaca/merino, the knit will look very similar but will be softer and drape beautifully. A sweater knitted from cotton will be stiffer and require more yarn. Reserve 500-500-600-600 g of yarn for the cotton sweater.

You can also knit the Luode sweater as a lighter version with two alpaca yarns held together. Combine PMK brushed alpaca/merino and PMK 100% alpaca lace. With this combination, the knit will be light and slightly fluffy, and the lace pattern will stand out with delicate elegance.

Luode is knitted seamlessly from the top down. An easy lace pattern alternates with stripes knitted in stockinette stitch. The hem, neckline, and cuffs have 1x1 ribbing.

The sweater is sized with oversized measurements, meaning the garment is intentionally large. If you want a standard-sized version, knit a smaller size or switch to a lighter yarn. This pattern adapts wonderfully to be knitted, for example, with a gauge of 20 stitches = 10 cm. In that case, the chest circumference for size M will be approximately 102 cm.

Sizes: S-M-L-XL, recommended positive ease 20-30 cm (8-12”)

• Body length at CB 52-53-55-57 cm (20½-21-21½-22”)
  
• Sleeve length at underarm 19-20-21-22 cm (7½-8-8½-9”)

	PMK alpaca/merino 60% alpaca, 30% merino wool, 10% polyamide, 100 g = 250 m (273 yds), you need: 300-400-400-500 g.  or PMK brushed alpaca/merino 55% baby alpaca, 21% merino wool, 24% polyamide, 50 g = 500 m (546 yds), you need: 100-100-100-100 g.  together with PMK 100% alpaca lace 100% baby alpaca, 100 g = 400 m (437 yds) you need: 200-200-300-300 g.
	4.5 mm and 4 mm (US 7 and 6) circular needles, 40 and 80 cm (16" and 32") and  4.5 mm and 4 mm (US 7 and 6) double-pointed needles or according to yarn and gauge.
	18 stitches and 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4") in stockinette stitch.
