Knitting Pattern

The Kaamos neck warmer features a high turtleneck and French shoulders that curve towards the back. This one-size cowl is designed to be worn under a coat or sweater. The front piece is slightly longer than the back piece.

The cowl is knitted seamlessly from the top down. After the collar, the work is divided into two sections. Increases are made along the edges of the back piece to create sloped shoulders. The stitches for the front piece's shoulder are picked up from the edge of the back piece's shoulder. The neckline is shaped with short rows.

The Kaamos neck warmer is an easy one-skein project that can be completed in a couple of evenings. The cowl is recommended to be knitted with PMK alpaca/merino. This yarn is especially flexible and feels wonderfully soft against bare skin.

The pattern is also excellent for knitting with two strands held together. Choose a soft DK-weight yarn as the first strand, such as PMK alpaca DK, and PMK brushed alpaca/merino as the second strand.

The pink sample piece used a DK-weight wool blend yarn with mohair.

	PMK alpaca/merino 60% alpaca + 30% merino wool + 10% polyamide, 100 g = 250 m (273 yds), you need: 100 g or PMK 100% alpaca DK 100% baby alpaca, 50 g = 112 m (123 yds), you need 100 g, combined with another yarn: PMK brushed alpaca/merino 55% baby alpaca + 21% merino wool + 24% polyamide, 50 g = 500 m (546 yds), you need 50 g
	5 mm and 4 mm (US 8 and 6) circular needles (60 cm) and 4 mm (US 6) double-pointed needles or according to yarn and gauge.
	20 sts and 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4") in stockinette stitch with larger needles.
