Knitting pattern

The Savu sweater is a classic, beautiful, simple basic knit. The loose-fitting sweater features a V-neck and a hem that reaches the upper hip. Since the sweater is knitted top-down, the length of the hem can be easily adjusted. A few short rows are knitted into the back piece, making the back hem 2 cm longer.

The Savu sweater is knitted seamlessly top-down. The sweater has French shoulders that curve towards the back. Stitches for the front piece are picked up from the slanted edges of the back piece. The sleeves are knitted downwards from the armhole, and the sleeve caps are shaped with short rows.

The sample of Savu is knitted from fluffy PMK alpaca/cotton. If you choose another material, carefully test your gauge and, if necessary, switch to larger needles to achieve a gauge of 17.5 stitches per ten centimeters.

This pattern is also excellent for knitting with two yarns held together. Choose a soft DK-weight yarn as one yarn, such as PMK alpaca DK, and PMK brushed alpaca/merino as the other. You can also replace the brushed alpaca yarn with mohair.

Sizes: S-M-L-XL-XXL, recommended positive ease 10-14 cm (4-6")

• Bust circumference 94-102-110-118-124 cm (37-40-43-46-49”)
• Body length at CB 65-67-69-71-73 cm (25½-26½-27-28-29”)
• Sleeve length at underarm 43-44-44-45-45 cm (17¼-17½-17¾-18-18¼)

	PMK alpaca/cotton 56% alpaca + 44% cotton, 100 g = 250 m (273 yds), you need: 300-350-400-400-450 g
	5 mm and 4 mm (US 8 and 6) circular needles, 80 cm (32") and 5 mm and 4 mm (US 8 and 6) double-pointed needles or according to yarn and your gauge.
	17-18 sts and 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4") in stockinette stitch.
