Knitting Pattern

Oksa is a long triangular shawl, knitted from one narrow end to the other narrow end. The pattern includes three sizes. With the smallest S-size, you knit a fashionable mini-shawl. The larger M-size is long enough to wrap twice around the neck. With the L-size pattern, you knit a voluminous winter shawl that also warms the shoulders.

The stitch pattern is garter stitch, and the triangular shape is created with M1R-increases and k2tog-decreases on one side. The long side of the shawl features a playful cable made with dropped stitches. The technique is not difficult, and there is a tutorial video on the Piia Maria Knit YouTube channel.

Oksa is a practical shawl and a lovely accessory for many occasions. When you knit the Oksa shawl from PMK 100% alpaca DK yarn, your shawl will feel luxuriously soft against the skin. The pattern, of course, adapts to many different DK-weight yarns. However, when choosing a substitute yarn, remember that the cable pattern shows best when knitted with a round and smooth-surfaced yarn. Fluffy yarns are not recommended.

	PMK 100% alpaca DK 100% baby alpaca, 50 g = 112 m (123 yds), or similar DK-weight yarn, you need 100(150)200 g
	3.5 - 4 mm (US 5-6) or according to your gauge, and crochet hook 6-7 mm (US 1-2).
	21.5 sts and 40 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4") in garter stitch.
