Knitting Pattern

The Katve sweater is a timeless, classically beautiful basic knit. This stockinette stitch sweater features a round neckline, long sleeves, and a hem that reaches the upper hip. The fit is relaxed and loose, and the hem is rather short. If you want the hem to extend to the lower hip, continue the hem section for approximately 10 cm longer and remember to allow for extra yarn for this purpose.

The sweater is knitted seamlessly from the bottom up. The hem section and sleeves are knitted separately, and then joined to the same circular needle at the yoke. The Katve features rounded raglan sleeves, meaning that decreases are made at different rates on the sleeve and body sections. This construction makes the sleeve particularly well-fitting, and at the shoulder, the sleeve curves into a narrow strip like a saddle sleeve.

When you knit the Katve hood in addition to the Katve sweater, you get a delightful hoodie set. The detachable hood makes the garment wonderfully versatile. Of course, you can also wear both knits separately. The Katve hood pattern is published as a separate pattern.

The Katve is knitted with PMK alpaca/cotton yarn. Alpaca wool makes the yarn warm, breathable, and soft, while cotton gives the knit structure and lightness. Suitable substitute yarns are worsted-weight blow wool type yarns with a yardage of 250 m / 100 g. Please remember to check that the gauge of the finished knit is 17.5 stitches = 10 cm (4").

Sizes: S-M-L-XL-XXL-3XL-4XL, recommended positive ease 10-20 cm (4-8")

• Bust circumference 98-106-114-122-130-138-146 cm (38½–41¾–45–48–51¼–54¼–57½").
• Back length 53-55-58-61-64-66-68 cm (20¾–21¾–22¾–24–25¼–26–26¾") + 4 cm (1½") for neckline ribbing.
• Sleeve length at underarm 45-46-46-47-47-48-48 cm (17¾–18–18–18½–18½–19–19").

	PMK alpaca/cotton 56% alpaca + 44% cotton, 100 g = 250 m (273 yds), you need: 300-350-400-450-500-550-600-650 g
	5 mm and 4.5 mm (US 8 and 7) circular needles, 80 cm and 40 cm (16" and 32"), and 5 mm and 4.5 mm (US 8 and 7) double-pointed needles or according to yarn and your tension.
	17-18 sts and 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4") in stockinette stitch.
