Knitting Pattern

The Aita Beanie is worked in the round from the bottom up. The brim features a tall, double-folded k2, p2 ribbing, while the upper part is worked in a Knit Stitch Lattice Pattern. Crown decreases are worked in the round using k1, p1 ribbing.

The beanie has a slightly slouchy shape. It can be worn with the brim folded back or standing upright. For a closer fit, fold the brim triple or knit 8 rows of the lattice pattern (approximately half a square less).

You will need two balls of soft PMK 100% alpaca DK yarn for this beanie. Suitable substitutes include any DK-weight alpaca or wool yarns. The pink sample was knitted in Novita Wonder Wool, which gives a firmer fabric. The version shown in the last picture is knitted with PMK alpaca yarn, resulting in a wonderfully soft beanie that naturally conforms to the head.

Measurements and Materials

One size: Beanie head circumference un-stretched 44 cm (17¼"), height 34 cm (13½").

	PMK 100% alpaca DK 100% baby alpaca, 50 g = 112 m (123 yds), or equivalent DK-weight yarn, you need: 100 g.
	4 mm (US 6) circular needles, 40 cm (16") and 4 mm (US 6) double-pointed needles.
	22 sts and 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4") in stockinette stitch.
