This knitwear is made to order in your chosen size and color. You can request adjustments to the standard measurements when placing your order by using the comments field in the shopping cart (Special instructions for the order). For example, you might ask for the hem to be 2 cm longer or the sleeves slightly wider. Minor measurement adjustments are included at no extra cost. The price is based on the size and the amount of yarn used.

As these items are made-to-order, they cannot be returned. Defective products will be replaced.

Each piece is hand-knitted in Finland by experienced professional knitters. Delivery time is 3–5 weeks.

Katve sweater

The Katve sweater is a timeless, classically beautiful basic knit. This stockinette stitch sweater features a round neckline, long sleeves, and a hem that reaches the upper hip. The fit is relaxed and loose, and the hem is rather short. If you want the hem to extend to the lower hip, continue the hem section for approximately 10 cm longer and remember to allow for extra yarn for this purpose.

The Katve features rounded raglan sleeves, meaning that decreases are made at different rates on the sleeve and body sections. This construction makes the sleeve particularly well-fitting, and at the shoulder, the sleeve curves into a narrow strip like a saddle sleeve.

In addition to the Katve sweater, the PMK collection will soon include the Katve hood, which is shown in the second picture. If you order the hood in addition to the sweater, you will get a cozy hoodie from the pair. The detachable hood makes the garment delightfully versatile. Of course, you can also use both knits separately. The Katve hood will go on sale in the first week of April.

Katve is knitted from fluffy PMK alpaca/cotton. Choose your favorite from four colors and check the size chart for the correct size. The recommended ease is 10-20 cm (4-8").

Choosing a size

Measure the widest part of your body and add 10–20 cm (4–8") of ease. From the size chart, choose the garment size where measurement A is closest to your calculated measurement. The size chart is shown in the last image.

Example: Your chest circumference is 95 cm. 95 cm + 15 cm = 110 cm. The correct size is L.

Once you have selected your size, add it to your shopping cart. Review the other garment measurements and compare them with a well-fitting sweater you already own.

If you would like to adjust the sleeve length, hem length, or sleeve circumference, please include your requests in the “Special instructions for the order” field in the shopping cart.

Example: Sleeve length C +2 cm, hem length D +10 cm, sleeve circumference B −2 cm.

In this example, you have ordered a size L sweater. Compared to the standard measurements, the sleeves will be 2 cm longer, the upper sleeve circumference will be reduced by 2 cm, and the hem will be 10 cm longer. If no instructions are provided, the sweater will be made according to the standard measurements.

Care

Hand wash in lukewarm water, 30°c, do not spin. Dry flat.

Alpaca wool is a naturally antibacterial fiber and repels dirt. Therefore, often just airing and brushing the knitwear with a knit brush is enough to clean it. Cotton needs washing more often.

The yarn withstands washing well. Use wool detergent for washing and let the knitwear soak in plenty of water. Note that hot water and vigorous rubbing will felt the knitwear.
