Test Knit Wild Ice Bomber

TEST KNITTING

The Wild Ice Bomber test knit will be organized as a secret test. This means that testers are not allowed to publish photos of their knit before the pattern is released. Once the pattern is published, the photos of your wonderful knit are more than welcome!

The test knit begins on October 10th and ends on November 16th. If the schedule is too tight for you, no worries. You can finnish your knit later. The most important thing is to identify any errors and ambiguities in the pattern before the end of the testing period. The pattern will be published in Laine's (Laine Publishing) collection book next spring. This is a great opportunity to showcase your knit to an international audience, as we are happy to publicly feature testers' versions.

I am primarily looking for testers who want to test an English-language pattern. If your language skills are not sufficient, I can send you a Finnish translation, and you can test it that way.

Testers receive the knitting pattern for free and agree to report any errors or ambiguities found to the designer. Testers are asked to report their material details and measure the finished knit. The pattern may not be altered, but the length of the hem or sleeves can be varied according to your preferences, so that your knit will fit you perfectly.

See the information below about the yarns and notions. The sample is knitted in size 2 with Novita Aino and Laine x Novita DK yarns. But of course, you can use any similar yarns for testing. If you want to knit the jacket with PMK yarns, you will get -10% discount in the online store. Unfortunately delivery is possible only in Europe. I will send you a personal discount code when you sign up. Write an email to info(at)piiamaria.fi and tell me which size you would like to knit.

You’re warmly welcome to join the test knitting!

WILD ICE BOMBER

Wild Ice Bomber was inspired by my journeys through the snow-covered mountains of Norway. Glaciers are dangerous and unpredictable. Deep within them, softness of snow is compressed under immense pressure into a moving mass of hard ice that cracks and rumbles.

This bomber style cardigan is full of contradictions. The shapes are big but organic. The geometric brioche pattern forces the soft blow wool into massive shapes. DK weight ribbing on edges keeps the wild movement strictly under control.

Wild Ice Bomber features six buttons, dropped European shoulders, long sleeves, and a relaxed fit.
